チューニングエンジンを搭載したPORSCHE964RS RACINGのMOTECセットアップを行ないました。エンジンはNAの3.8LRSRスペックです。セッティングはモータースポーツ界では有名なエンジンチューナーであり、このエンジンの製作も手がけられたi-tec Motorsportにて低速から高速域まで細かいセットを行ないました。セッティングにはDynapackを使用し、実際の走行と同様の負荷をかけてパワーとトルクを実測しながらMOTECのセットアップを行います。今回新たなエキゾーストシステムを装着したため再セッティングを行ないましたが、こうして車輌のチューニング度合いによりそのクルマだけのオリジナルセットアップを行なうことにより、そのエンジンの持っている性能を余すことなく引き出すことが可能になります。また特性もいたずらにピークパワーを追いかけるのではなく通常のサーキット走行で一番乗り易くラップタイムに影響する回転域のパワー＆トルクを太らせることによって、ドライバビリティが大幅に向上し当然ラップタイムにも好影響を与えます。レース用エンジンもこの手法が採られており、加速性能に優れたエンジン特性が好タイムを叩き出します。そこは長年PORSCHEやBMWのレーシングユニットを組んで走らせてきたi-tec motorsportならではのノウハウが仕込まれています。このスペシャル964RS-Rは今月FISCOでテスト走行を行ないます。今後はMOTECだけでなくスタンダードコンピュータでもDynapackを使用しi-tec motorsportオリジナルのコンピュータチューニングが可能になりました。Ferrari 355, 360, 430, 599, 612やPORSCHE964, 993, 996, 997のスタンダードコンピュータのチューニングが可能です。詳細は後日お知らせいたします♪

We have done the MOTEC set up of PORSCHE 964RS RACING which carries tuned 3.8L RSR spec engine. Set up has been done strictly from low to top by i-tec motorsport, a famous tuner in the racing field who tuned this engine. Used Dynapack to set up MOTEC alongside measuring power and torque by putting same loads as running condition. We re-set up this time because new exhaust system has been installed, but like this, it is possible to pull out the car’s maximum performance by setting it up to match each cars modification level. Not just chasing the peak power, but fatting the power and torque of the range which mostly affects the lap time on normal racetrack runs, improves drivability and of course, results faster lap time. Racing engine is always set up this way, better acceleration means better lap time. There are plenty of know-hows blended in by i-tec motorsport who ran racing engines of PORSCHEs and BMWs and all others for many years. This special 964RS-R will go for a test run at FISCO later this month. And from now on, it is possible to give original tune of i-tec motorsport using Dynapack not only for MOTEC, but for standard computers.
